The main differences between medical non-woven fabrics and ordinary non-woven fabrics

There are currently two common types of non-woven fabrics on the market, one is ordinary non-woven fabric and the other is medical non-woven fabric. Because it is mainly used for medical purposes, the quality requirements are relatively strict. Besides, what is the difference between the two?
1. Antibacterial ability
Since it is a medical non-woven fabric, the primary criterion is antibacterial ability. Generally, a three-layer SMMMS melt blown layer structure is used. Ordinary medical non-woven fabric adopts a single-layer melt blown layer structure. Compared to the two, it can be affirmed that the three-layer structure has stronger antibacterial ability. As for non medical ordinary non-woven fabrics, they do not have antibacterial ability due to the lack of melt blown layer.
2. Suitable for various sterilization methods
Since it has antibacterial ability, corresponding bactericidal ability is also needed. Good medical non-woven fabrics can be applied to various sterilization methods, such as pressure steam and hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization. Ordinary non-medical non-woven fabrics are not suitable for various sterilization methods.
3. Quality management
Medical non-woven fabrics need to pass the certification of relevant product quality control systems, and each step of the production process has strict standards and requirements.
The main differences between medical non-woven fabrics and ordinary non-woven fabrics are mainly reflected in these aspects. Both have their own purposes and characteristics, so they should be selected appropriately according to their usage needs.
